The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given telecommunications operators in the country two weeks to block all SIM cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN).
Failure to do so will lead to your line being blocked or disconnected by the 30th of December 2020.
Steps to link your NIN to your mobile number on all networks
For MTN users, You can now link your National Identification Number (NIN) to your mobile number on the MTN network.
Simply dial *785# or dial *785*NIN# or visit http://bit.ly/myMTNapp to get started.
Visit https://mtnonline.com/nin/ using your phone or computer.
Complete the NIN linking form by entering your name, phone number, NIN, and email address.
Submit the form as soon as you’re done.
Wait for feedback from the network.
For Glo Users, Employ the following steps to link your National Identification Number (NIN) to your mobile number.
As per NCC guidelines, NIN is mandatory to keep your GLO Line active. Type UPDATENIN NIN FirstName LastName and send to 109
